And They Went Down both Into the Water is a fountain sculpture made of welded bronze with appropriate plumbing in metal , pvc, etc. The sculpture is 12’H x 20’W x 9’D and is an interpretation of the story in Acts 8:38 of St. Phillips Baptism of the Ethiopian Eunuch. The site of the fountain, Springfield Village Park in Augusta, GA. was in pre-Revolutionary times a village of the free blacks and slaves and the site of one of the earliest black churches in the United States dating from 1787.
